We are seeking a junior level web application developer, experienced in working with Java/J2EE web based applications in a Linux environment. The ideal candidate will be versatile across different technologies and roles.
The initial focus for the candidate will be to participate in the development of the latest music storefront and music download platform which will be deployed to multiple customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Engineer and implement new product features for Java web-based applications
- Optimize and enhance web applications with millions of page requests, high volume data logging, and processing needs, and high performance requirements.
- Adhere to design and software development standards. Maintain up to date knowledge of software development disciplines and best practices.
- Provide technical support to other departments
- Prioritize daily activities to accomplish assignments.
- Work on a highly interactive Agile Scrum development team, participating in cross-team code and task reviews and testing being accountable for quality and adherence to standards
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years Java experience developing backend and/or web-based applications running in a Linux environment
- 2+ years Spring experience using multiple frameworks within Spring
- Working knowledge of SQL, relational database development, preferably MySQL
- Some knowledge of JavaScript
- Some knowledge of web page template technology (Velocity, JSP)
- Self-motivated problem solver
- Diligence to ensuring quality and experience using JUnit
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Working Knowledge of Tomcat, Apache, JUnit, Ant, Perl, Unix shell
- Experience using ORM technologies, preferably JPA/Hibernate
- Experience with web services, XML/SOAP and JSON
- Experience in web technologies, such as Spring-MVC, AJAX, JSP, HTML, Velocity, Struts
- Tools: Eclipse IDE, Perforce
- Experience working in the mobile software applications industry
